Radziwill Castle in Nesvizh

The Radziwill Castle in Nesvizh is included in the UNESCO heritage list. The palace was designed by the Italian Jesuit monarch and architect Giovanni Maria Bernardoni, who is best known as the first architect who brought the Baroque style to Eastern Europe in general and the Commonwealth in particular.

Nesvizh Palace was founded in the middle of the 15th century, but it was built in stages, so the architectural ensemble shows a mixture of styles. But the main ones are Renaissance and Baroque. The castle was founded during the life of Radziwill the Orphan and was rebuilt over the centuries, and the final look that can be seen is now formed under Mikhail Radziwill Rybonka.

After the Patriotic War of 1812, the palace fell into disrepair. It is rapidly sold and resold in different hands. At various times attempts were made to reconstruct it. The last restoration was completed in 2012 and the castle is open for tours.
